Behind-the-Monsters

• Although their appearance resembles frog (feet), the original script described them as resembling eels.

• The Voords who appeared in The Keys of Marinus all had different helmets, each of which were designed and crafted for their respective actor.

• After the Daleks, the Voords are first race of monsters to appear on the show, who never returned for a second appearance. They did however appear in comic strips for a second showdown, thus making them the first monsters The Doctor to face twice.

• Telepathy used to communicate with each other, higher Voords or Leaders had higher intellect levels used to control others

• The power to control minds of other people to aid their purpose.

• Invading and conquering planets and them turning the population into more Voord by fusing Voord masks and suits to the wearer.

• Capital punishment used on those who prove or act disobediently

Voord submarines coming into land off of the sea of acid.

Technology 

• Black scuba diving-like suits made to protect them from elements. Suits not capable of withstanding acid and piercing marks. Suits extended life by several centuries however.

• Submarines capable of travelling through bodies of waters inc. seas made of acid.

• Barges capable of travelling above water levels, possibly powered by anti-gravity. Capable of stopping and picking up speed in small amounts of time.

Weapons

• Crude weapons including knife and spears for attacking and killing enemies.

Unanswer Question: It’s possible the Voord are not a species at all, but rather a group of Arbitans. Their true appearance is never revealed behind their costumes, so who knows what lurks beneath them. Perhaps Voord is an colloquial name.
