Behind-the-Monsters

  • One of the Axon costumes would later resurface during The Seeds of Doom; but only painted green to become the humanoid Krynoids

  • The name Axon actually came from the term concerning a nerve fibre which neurological impulses are carried.

  • The Axos spaceship was originally going to resemble a giant skull, and it was going to land in Hyde Park, after ‘crashing’ from running out of fuel.

  • The Axos encounter originally would have seen the Battersea Power Station being destroyed. Other battles would have taken place in space.

Biology

  • The inside of Axos was covered in tendrils and claws which could bind a prisoner to a wall or floor. Another form of these tendrils could grab hold of an individual and drag them inside.

  • Axon Monsters came in different forms. The golden-skinned Axon Family, Globby-Faced Axons, Axon Globs, and red tentacled Axon Monsters with bodies covered in tendrils and exposed lungs.

Culture

  • Axos was all that remained of their culture. As a scavenger it only looked to replenish its nutrition cycles and survive. Axos would suck a planet dry before continuing its journey.

 Technology

  • Their technology took on a more organic route, rather than being mechanical.

  • Axos had some crude time travel ability, but only being able to make time jumps that could take them mere moments into the past.

  • The ability to recreate copies of people. An Axos copy of Bill Filer was made

  • Individuals could be artificially aged in a matter of second, possibly to point of death. The process could be reversed.

  • It seems Axos also had the ability turn individual into Axons.

  • ‘Axonite’ had the ability to absorb, convert, transmit and program all forms of energy. A single Axon Monster walked into a reactor core and transferred all energy back to Axos.

  • A lasonic injector could enlarge and shrink any and all lifeforms. The Axon Man demonstrated with a common Earth frog, showcasing Axonite could end world hunger.

Weapons

  • · Axon Monsters had tendrils which could extend from their bodies. A single touch could disintegrate or kill an individual on touch.

Unanswered Question: When Axos arrives on Earth its energy cycle is depleted. Axos needs to replenish its cycle within 72 hours, or face starvation. If Axos encountered The Master long before it needed to replenish the nutrition cycle, is it possible The Master took Axos on a detour before bringing it to Earth? Did The Master actually help with the disposal of Axos? The Master is kept prisoner for a while, so its possible.

Fear Factor Score: 7/10 (Frightening)
