Behind-the-Monsters

• The Androids were described as Male Android Silhouette and Female Android Silhouette in the scripts for part one and two. Despite not being described as such by any character, there brief description did appear within the Radio Times.

• One of the Android costumes was later reused for The Five Doctors to double for the Raston Warrior Robot. Ironically the ‘Android’ slaughtered a whole platoon of Cybermen.

Culture

• The Androids worked in pairs. Moving silently and stealthily through the cave systems in which they were positioned.

• The Androids were programmed for survival and followed their programming to the upmost degree. They would not take unnecessary action if it meant they would be put at risk.

Technology

• The Androids can not be picked up by scanners allowing them to move stealthy without the risk of being spotted on scanners.

• The Androids had a built in monitoring system allowing the Cybermen to receive images and even see through their ‘eyes’. 

Weapons

• The Cybermen had built-in weapons embedded in their hands allowing them to reduce a human into a smoldering puddle of molten flesh. The weapons were powerful enough to destroy clothing and even helmets and other human weapons.

Unanswered Question: How did the Androids gets to Earth in the first place? The Cyberman army is on the freighter heading to Earth. Did the Cybermen use a teleport system. Do the Cybermen have agents on Earth who built the androids to their designs?
