MYSTERY: Where are Ancient Stone Circles Hard to Count?

EARTH DATE: 1978

EVENT: Paleolithic stone circles have always been hard to count. Every time someone counts them, and goes back to the beginning and does it again, they get a different number. How can this be? Stones can move and move position, can they? And why do some people feel at unease whenever they stand in such stone circles. It could be an evil presence is at work within the stone circles, and why are blood sacrifices so important in rituals within stone circles?

MYSTERY SOLVED: The stone circle 'the Nine Travellers' contains Ogri, silicon-based lifeforms which resemble rocks. They fed on blood from humans, and can move at will at all times. They can appear and disappear at frightening speeds, and change their position within the stone circle. That's why the circle always seems to change shape and position.

MYSTERY: Why Did the Dinosaurs Die Out?

EARTH DATE: 65,000,000 years ago

EVENT: An unknown and unexplained event occurred on Earth where a majority of the predominant animal and plant were wiped out to the point of extinction. Only primitive animals lurking in caves and underground are thought to have survived the event that saw the entire planet suffering a catalytic event. Some theories suggests a giant dust ball blocked out the sun and heat, causing all reptile life to suffocate and died. Another suggest a large celestial object collided with the Earth sending up rocks, dust and debris into the atmosphere, blocking out the sun, and then raining down on the landscapes below. Volcanic eruptions and earthquakes quickly engulfed the planet, ending the reign of the dinosaurs which reportedly lasted about 100,000,000 million years.

MYSTERY SOLVED: It was neither a dust ball or asteroid but rather an Earth freighter from 2526 which collided with the planet. The Cybermen planned to send the freighter on a collision course for 26^th Century Earth to destroy a peace conference. However, Adric began solving three logic codes to divert the freighter away from the Earth. In do so however, the freighter travelled back 65,000,000 million years and eventually collided with the Earth, taking Adric with it.

MYSTERY: How Did the Ancient Peruvians Build Their Temples?

EARTH DATE: A Few Thousand Year Ago

EVENT: Peruvian architecture has baffled historians and scientists for years. How did such primitive people build such beautiful buildings with precise mathematical dimensions, using primitive tools and resources. How did their temples come to be, and did anyone or anything influence their architecture and design?

MYSTERY SOLVED: Thousands of years ago, being from a distant planet called the Exxilons visited Earth and helped the Earth people evolve. The Exxilons brought their own designs with them, and helped humanity build their ancient structures. The Exxilons visit would later be recorded and carved out into such temples, depicting them as gods.

MYSTERY: What Happened on the Mary Celeste?

EARTH DATE: 1872

EVENT: On the 5^th November a sailing ship the Mary Celeste set sail from New York enroute to Italy, carrying a small number of crew and sailors. However, on the 4^th December the ship was discovered adrift, the crew were missing, and no indication pointed to the fact that they left the ship. Everyone on the ship simply vanished without a trace.

MYSTERY SOLVED: Whilst pursuing The Doctor and his companions through time and space, the Daleks landed on the ship, frightening the crew. In desperation, they threw themselves overboard leaving the ship in its silent state.

MYSTERY: What is the Abominable Snowman and does it infact Exist?

EARTH DATE: 19^th Century and beyond

EVENT: For centuries explorers and inhabitants of the Himalayas have reported seeing a giant bear-like animals, unlike anything reported before. This creature reportedly had huge fur, claws and walked on two legs. Although many expeditions attempted to catalogue and bring back proof of this creature, no hard-core evidence has ever been found. Is this creature the stuff of myth and folklore, or is it perhaps a creature from another world.

MYSTERY SOLVED: The Abominable Snowman or Snowmen are in fact robot servants created by the Great Intelligence, a disembodied identity who controlled a Tibetan monastery for almost 200 years. The Abominable Snowmen were controlled with a silver sphere which could be inserted into the chest unit turning them into big, hulking killing machines.

MYSTERY: Is the Loch Ness Monster an Actually Creature?

EARTH DATE: 6^th Century and beyond

EVENT: For centuries the people of Loch Ness have reportedly seen a huge, ferocious creature similar to a species of dinosaur, long since extinct. People have seen this creature both in the Loch and on land, but no hard proof has ever been captured confirming the Monster’s existence. Is it possible a dinosaur has survived all this time in the depths of Loch Ness? Is it possible there are more of them? Could this creature be something else?

MYSTERY SOLVED: The Loch Ness Monster is actually a modified cybernetic creature called the Skarasen which was released into the Loch in the 12^th century. A creature of destruction, the Zygons planned to use the Skarasen in their attempts for total world domination. That still doesn’t explain the other 600 years the creature was sighted. Perhaps the other Nessie meet an unfortunate end, and the Skarasen took its place.

MYSTERY: What Started the Great Fire of London?

EARTH DATE: 1666

EVENT: On a warm summer night in 1666, a fire started in a bakery in Pudding Lane which soon engulfed most of the city. In a space of three days most of the city was gutted and destroyed; but the threat of plague and rats was extinguished. No one knows exactly what started the fire, but many believe a tired baker may have been clumsy with their work. Another theory was a local boy attempted to steal some beard. The baker who had just taking loaves out of an oven, turned around too quickly, a spark ignited the fire. Both plausible but both wrong.

MYSTERY SOLVED: The Fifth Doctor accidentally started the fire when he dropped a torch on a pile of hay. The fire soon engulfed the bakery in Pudding Lane taking the invading Terileptils with it.

MYSTERY: Why Did Alantis Sink?

EARTH DATE: 1500BC; 1968; 1970s

EVENT: The ancient and mythical city of Atlantis reportedly vanished into the oceans never to be seen again. Its existence has been the subject of much academic debate, with some debunking its existence as nothing more than folklore and myth. Other believe the city existed, but can’t explain what caused the sinking. Some believe the ‘Gods’ sunk the city as a punishment, other believe a volcanic eruption caused the island to descend into the ocean.

MYSTERY SOLVED: The sinking of Atlantis can be attributed to Kronos and Azal, both of him bare some responsibility for Atlantis sinking. Atlantis was apparently an experiment to the Dæmons who sunk the island when it failed. Kronos was unleashed on the island, causing untold damage and destruction, and killing many people in the process. Professor Zaroff later found the city, with no real evidence that Kronos or Azal influenced the island in any way.

MYSTERY: Did Shakespeare Write a ‘Lost’ Play?

EARTH DATE: 1599

EVENT: Scholars and researchers on Shakespeare all agree that Shakespeare’s bibliography is complete with one exception. The famous lost play ‘Love’s Labours Won’ is lost, no copy is known to have survived and is absent from portfolios of Shakespeare’s work. Evidence suggests the play was performed, but with no copies to back this up, what other theories can be drawn up? Some suggest the play’s title, is a cover up for another play, but is this the case?

MYSTERY SOLVED: The play was actually going to help the Carrionites escape from the Deep Darkness, a realm they were banished to by the Eternals. When the play was performed, a portal opened between the dimensions, and the Carrionites began to escape. William Shakespeare, however found the counterspell, and sent the Carrionites back where they came from. All copies of Love Labours Won was sucked into the Deep Darkness as well, erasing the play from existence forever.

MYSTERY: Do Werewolves Exist?

EARTH DATE: 1540 – 1879

EVENT: Werewolves have always been a classic monster told to frighten people. They have been an important part in folklore and mythology, and even in horror genre for books and entertainment. Werewolves have been reportedly sighted for centuries, with drawings, wood carving and documents recording reported sightings. Are these creatures real or do they have another origin from space.

MYSTERY SOLVED: The werewolf which terrorised the Scottish highlands for some three hundred years was actually a creature called the Lupine Wavelength Haemovariform which mapped its appearance on the classic werewolf temple. Using the wavelengths and light from the moon, the creature took the form of a werewolf wreaking havoc wherever it went.

MYSTERY: What Happened to Agatha Christie when she disappeared fro 10 Days?

EARTH DATE: 1926

EVENT: In 1926, the famous crime fiction writer Agatha Christie disappeared for 10 days without a trace. Manhunts were set up to find her, and widespread theories said she was dead. She later turned up at a Hotel in Harrogate with no recollection of what happened to her. She never spoke about her disappearance until the day she died.

MYSTERY SOLVED: After her encounter with a Vespiform, Agatha Christie fell into sleep-like state. The Doctor and Donna were with her, and soon realised the part they would play in her disappear. Leaving her car by the side of a lake, which was found the following morning, The Doctor and Donna took Agatha in the TARDIS and dropped her off at the Hotel in Harrogate ten days later where she was later found.
